Helping Sherwood Autism Center with VoIP Business Phones and Managed Firewalls
The Sherwood Autism Center recently requested bids for new business phones. They also needed managed firewalls for improved network security. Prior to meeting with Avid, they assumed the solution was going to cost tens of thousands of dollars for just their main location (they have 3 locations.) Also, they were concerned about expensive upgrades as they continue to grow and help more people with autism.
The Project Team
Kyle Graas and Taylor Cates from Avid worked with Laci Maltbie, the executive director and Milka Ramirez, the office administrator. The goal was to understand why hosted VOIP business phones might work better than a traditional premise based system.
We worked with their team to fully understand the features and functions they needed. And we showed them additional functionality and support that’s possible with our business phone solution. This included deploying new, managed firewalls at their locations for network security. The final hurdle was to make sure the solution would meet their budget requirements. The Avid solution for phone service and VoIP phone systems for all of their locations was priced lower than what they had budgeted for their main location. And as part of the project, they were able to get new managed firewalls within their original budget!
The Sherwood Autism center now has a complete communications solution that can easily be expanded and upgraded. And those expansions will fit within their budget requirements.
Milka Ramirez, Office Manager for the Sherwood Autism Center said, “We installed an Avid phone system last Fall and it has been amazing! We had a minor issue with our paging system in the beginning that was solved quickly and to our satisfaction. Customer service is friendly and knowledgeable – something you don’t always see these days! We are happy with our decision to choose Avid.”
Partnering with Not-For-Profits in our Community
Avid is very proud to be able to work with such an amazing organization of dedicated people that provide specialized education and support to individuals with autism. Last week, the Sherwood Autism Center hosted their 27th annual Blues and Barbeque annual fundraising event. The funds raised from this great event help the Sherwood Autism Center with their mission to “empower children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities to maximize their potential in family and community life.” Many Avid Communications employees attended the event and truly enjoyed a great day of blues and barbeque.
