Accession is being renamed MaX
Many Avid clients use the Accession Communicator and Accession Mobile applications that allow computers and mobile phones to become softphones that function just like standard office desk phones. Beginning Monday, April 27, Accession will become MaX. While this will be simply a branding change right now, it signals future functionality that will incorporate an array of functions to unify and improve the user experience and will focus increasingly on mobility.
Here’s how it works.
The next time you upgrade the Accession app on your computer or mobile phone, the app’s name will change to MaX and its icon will change to the following:
The upgrade will be largely seamless, but there are three things to be aware of:
- Task Bar pin on Windows. If a user has previously pinned Accession to the task bar, MaX will no longer be pinned when it’s upgraded. Just re-pin MaX after the upgrade.
- Double Upgrade on Mac. Due to changes being made by Apple, the Mac upgrade requires two steps. After the first upgrade, the user will be immediately asked to upgrade again. Just accept both upgrades and all will be well.
- CommPortal Web. The desktop app can be downloaded from CommPortal. For some users CommPortal will still list it as Accession. However, it will actually download MaX, so go ahead and download using the link.
