Employee Spotlight: Hayden Boyd

At Avid, we work hard to arm ourselves with a variety of tools and services in order to equip our customers with their best fit. More important than any specific tool, though, is the team behind those tools. Our engineering team is a group of talented individuals who were hand-picked to design our custom solutions.
Focus on Hayden Boyd – Lead Network Engineer
Hayden’s main role at Avid is provisioning and developing solutions for our next-generation firewall (NGF), including working on automated solutions and working on the tools we provide to our customers. Hayden also responds directly to alerts from our SIEM, handles the planning of firmware upgrades when they are needed to keep our customers secure, and helps develop VPN solutions.
Hayden has a background in primarily technology management and science. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in science and a Master’s degree in science in Technology Management: Telecommunications from Southeast Missouri State University. Hayden also has several certifications specific to his role at Avid. He is certified as a Cisco Certified Network Professional with a Design Specialty certification and has completed his Fortinet Network Security Expert 4 certification, which covers the components of our NGF and how to troubleshoot them.
As for career experience, Hayden worked at Southeast Health for four years as a Desktop Support Analyst, at Southeast Missouri State University for two years as a Graduate Assistant for the Technology Management Telecommunication Degree program, and most recently, he worked at Cerner on the DoD/VA modernization group as a System Engineer.
Outside of Work
When he’s not working on our next-gen firewall, Hayden still likes to work with technology. One of his favorite pastimes is building computers. Some of his favorite creative hobbies include 3D printing and painting. Most importantly, Hayden is a self-proclaimed Bulldog Dad.
All of us at Avid are here for a reason. When I asked Hayden what made Avid unique for him, he said that it’s all about the people. “We have team members that come from different business sectors, and those diverse backgrounds of knowledge allow us to come up with unique solutions for our clients,” he said.
