Employee Spotlight – Luke Eilert

Last month, we shared a blog on Avid Communication’s recent move. Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed it was written by a potentially unfamiliar name – Luke Eilert. Luke is a new Account Manager at Avid and will be assisting with Avid’s blogging going forward. We all think he’s doing an amazing job so far and is easily our best hire in years! If only we had heard of this brilliant young man earlier!
I’ll drop the ruse…
Honestly, though, my introduction at Avid couldn’t have been better. I am already feeling right at home here, thanks especially to aid from the rest of the sales team.
I’ll give a bit of background. I’ve lived in and around Kansas City nearly my whole life. As a result, I am very devoted to my hometown, as most of us here are. I attended the Heider College of Business at Creighton University, earning a degree in Marketing (that may explain why I’m the new blog guy!) After graduating, I enrolled in the MBA program at the University of Kansas. However, I was eager to begin my career, and soon after found Avid Communications.
My favorite pastimes are watching movies and discovering new music. I have a soft spot for mockumentaries, my favorite of which is What We Do in the Shadows. As for music, I especially love 80s new wave, with Talking Heads being my all-time favorite. I always enjoy hearing something new, so I’m very open to recommendations!
When I explain my job to my friends, it’s hard to do it justice. I say “telecom” and their eyes glaze over. I suppose that’s why we handle it for our customers. However, the company makes all the difference, and that’s especially true with Avid. What drove me to Avid is the same thing that draws many of our customers, the personality.
Avid is local, which means we can provide a level of service and attention that others can’t. Applying that level of attention is my favorite aspect of the job. I love meeting with customers at their place of business and getting a glimpse into local businesses in order to help them accomplish their goals more effectively.
To any customers who I worked with in my early days of training, I appreciate you putting up with my earlier lack of knowledge. Now, I am happy to say I am comfortable in my role, and even happier to join the Avid team in providing the best, most personal telecom service in the Kansas City area!
