Ready For Launch: Accession Chat
By Shelby Fuchs, Marketing Communications Specialist
As many of our customers already know, Avid has been carrying a softphone application for the last year or so. For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to learn about this innovative communication tool for those who are frequently are on the go, you can read about it in our blog post titled Accession Communicator.
Accession Chat
Something cool has been recently launched within the Accession app. Users now have the ability to chat with other users who have Accession. I’m probably going to unveil my youthfulness a little bit here, but this idea is fantastic in my opinion and here’s why: As someone who grew up in the age of AIM (AOL Instant Messenger… may it rest in peace….) and was blessed with the introduction of Apple’s iMessage as a teenager, I have found that being able to send very brief messages improves efficiency. And chat usually gets me a quicker response compared to waiting for someone to answer their phone. Or worse, opting to send an email to your supervisor who already gets flooded with messages and might take days to get back with you.
Another great aspect of the Accession Chat feature, is that if you’re in a situation in which you can’t be taking calls, the person on the other end can chat with you and avoid the ring.
Accession Chat is perfect for organizations who are looking to improve internal communication between departments. A perfect example of this is that Chat improves collaboration by giving users the ability to attach and send documents to co-workers. Accession allows users to see the current status of co-workers as well. Whether using a desk phone or Accession on a softphone or browser, you have the ability to see when someone is on a call or not. Likewise, you can see when someone is in a meeting because the app syncs with Outlook.
If you use Accession, and would like to install the Chat feature, please contact Avid Support to discuss getting that set up. Or, if you would like to learn more about using Accession for your business, please contact Avid’s Sales Team.
