So Avid Communications has developed a new service for these clients–Starter Pack. Starter Pack includes a block of 10 phone numbers, an browser controlled Automated Attendant, and five unified messaging accounts. Phone stations can be added. Special rates are available on T-1 lines when the operations move to a permanent location. A variety of options can be added, including fax server, email, web hosting and conference bridges.

But what good is this? Well, the business can have the presence of a large, well established business with an automated attendant, transfer to cell phones and other lines, fax server and unified messaging–along with the securing of main phone numbers for permanent use–for less than $100 per month. For businesses that start in someone’s home and for those who have several people in different locations with no main location for the business, the service is ideal.

As the business grows, the initial setup can be easily expanded–ultimately to hundreds of phones, ultra high-speed Internet, multiple locations and very sophisticated features–one phone at a time.
